UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A pair of thieves pulled a knife on an Upper East Side CVS employee as they tried to leave the store without paying for a huge bounty of Bounty paper towels, police said.

The men entered the CVS on Lexington Avenue near East 87th Street at about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday and started loading up on the name-brand paper towels, according to officials.

According to the New York Post, the pair had grabbed over $200 worth of the disposable cleaning product.

A 20-year-old store clerk attempted to intervene and told them to scram, but one of the crooks pulled out a knife, officials said.

The clerk backed off and went to grab his manager as the two left the store, police told Patch.

Police said the pair fled to the subway and that there were no injuries reported.

But a plucky Post photographer on the scene captured photos of NYPD transit cops cuffing one of the men, surrounded by several pack of paper towels.

An NYPD spokesperson told Patch Wednesday morning that they were unable to find a record of any arrests related to the incident.

Police sources told the Post that the man who pulled out the knife during the towel-heist was still at large.
