UPPER EAST SIDE, NY —One of the two muggers whose daytime crime was interrupted by an intrepid doorman on East 75th Street has been cuffed, according to police.

NYPD officials said that a 16-year-old girl was arrested and charged with robbery on Tuesday on the Upper East Side. Because of her age, her name is being withheld from the public.

On Feb. 4, a 24-year-old had her phone stolen from a pair of crooks at 3 p.m. near Madison Avenue on East 75th Street, police said.

The muggers, both of who were clearly captured on nearby cameras, attacked the woman and put her in a headlock, forcing her to the ground, officials said.

That's when the doorman took action and helped end the violence before things got any worse.

"Her cheek was touching the glass," the doorman told NBC, "and she kind of looked back and I was on the other side of the glass — our eyes just met and I saw in her eyes that fear, like: 'am I gonna die now?'"

The rescuer told NBC News that in his 24 years on the job, he's never had to do anything like this.

But he insisted that he's not a hero.

"Anyone would have done it," he told NBC.
