UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is attempting to identify two robbers with a craving for ice cream, police said.

The robbers struck two Upper East Side businesses on Sunday, April 15, police said. The first business they hit was a 7/11 on Third Avenue and East 82nd Street, police said. A few hours later, the robbers hit a CVS Pharmacy on Lexington Avenue between East 87th and 88th streets, police said.

During both robberies, a man and woman stuffed their jackets with pints of ice cream before attempting to leave the store, police said. When store employees attempted to stop the couple, the man would pull out a knife and threaten workers, police said.
