Free UES Gallery Walk To Sweep Madison Avenue Again This Weekend

More than 60 galleries are participating in the annual spring event, with free tours, curator talks and more. Here's what to know.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Spring on the Upper East Side means tulips on Park Avenue, cherry blossoms in Carl Schurz Park — and, for art lovers, the annual Madison Avenue Spring Gallery Walk.

The free event returns to the neighborhood on Saturday, with 63 galleries opening their doors for tours, discussions and curator talks along Madison Avenue between East 57th and 86th streets.

Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., highlights include a free outdoor sketching event at Frick Madison, an exhibition of the sculptor Fred Sandback at David Zwirner Gallery, and a tour of the Indian art show "Dhanvantari’s Blessing" at Kapoor Galleries.

Pop artist Robert Rauschenberg's works will be showcased at Mnuchin Gallery, and the French painter Marguerite Louppe will have a solo exhibition at Rosenberg & Co.

Due to limited capacity, visitors must reserve a spot online at each participating gallery. The full list of galleries and a printable map are available on the website of the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, which sponsors the event.
