Fuel Spilled On Upper East Side Street, FDNY Says

The spill occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on East 87th Street between First and Second avenues.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side street was shut down Tuesday morning as emergency responders tended to a fuel spill, an FDNY spokesman said.

The fuel was spilled on East 87th Street between First and Second avenues around 11:07 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The spokesman said fire crews responded to the scene and waited for Con Edison to assist in the cleanup.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the fuel spill, an FDNY spokesman said.
