UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are searching for a suspect after a man carved antisemitic remarks into the front door of an Upper East Side building, New York City Police Department officials said Friday.

According to the NYPD, the perpetrator used a sharp tool to carve antisemitic statements into the front door of the building back on Dec. 27 at 12:13 p.m. in front of 47 East 60th St., between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue.

According to Google Maps, that address is the location of the Groiler Club, a literary society for book lovers and graphic arts fans.

When a 24-year-old employee approached the perpetrator, he displayed a sharp tool, made several more antisemitic remarks, and then ran away, heading toward Park Avenue, police said.
