A Gourmet 'Shoppable Apartment' Boutique To Open In Lenox Hill
This new dinner party supply shop has us salivating.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Big Night, the cheerful dinner-and-party supply shop with locations in Greenpoint and the West Village, is heading uptown to Lenox Hill this fall.
The new shop is set to open its third location at 1015 Lexington Ave., near the corner of East 73rd Street in mid-October, the founder told Patch.
The new 800-square-foot shop is designed like a "shoppable apartment," complete with a kitchen, glassware bar, dining room, and pantry, Katherine Lewin, the Brooklyn Heights-based founder, told Patch.

The new shop will open in the space previously occupied by Sara's Antiques, which closed in 2024 after several clients sued the store and claimed they had been ripped off.
Lewin, who also authored a book called "Big Night," said the inspiration for the store came during the pandemic.

"I (like so many others) spent so much time in the kitchen cooking – and found myself dreaming about the day when we could gather with our friends and loved ones around the dinner table again," Lewin said. "The idea for Big Night was to create a place where you could find everything you need to cook, eat, and host, all in one place."
Shoppers can expect Big Night’s signature maximalist aesthetic — the checkerboard patterns, rich colors, and playful touches found at the West Village and Greenpoint locations— reimagined with elevated details for the Upper East Side, Lewin said.
"Like our first two locations, our goal is to reflect the magic of this particular neighborhood across both store design and product assortment," Lewin said.
Alongside its growing in-house product line, Big Night will stock popular brands such as Sabre's French cutlery and Sophie Lou Jacobsen's colorful glassware, as well as new arrivals just in time for holiday shopping.
Opening on the Upper East Side feels like a full-circle New York moment, Lewin told Patch.
"The Upper East Side is truly iconic — the architecture and museums, martinis at Bemelmans, scouring the shelves at Zitomer for treasures — so it’s an NYC dream come true to open there," Lewin said.
"It’s been such an honor to become a real part of our first two neighborhoods (Greenpoint and the West Village), where we can get to know our regulars (and their dogs), and we’re so excited to do the same on the Upper East Side."
Big Night will open at 1015 Lexington Ave. in mid-October, Lewin said.
