UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Guggenheim Museum — a favorite among both New York City art lovers, architecture buffs and tourists — will expand its hours of operation in 2019 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building.
Starting Jan. 7 the Upper East Side museum, located on Fifth Avenue between East 88th and 89th streets, will be open seven days per week, museum officials announced this week. The museum currently closes on Thursdays.
In addition to the new hours, the museum will also organize events and tours that will offer guests an opportunity to "learn about the Guggenheim’s landmark building through programs that highlight the connection between art and architecture," according to an announcement.
