A Hamptons Fitness Studio Is Coming To The UES
Expect a full schedule of lightly heated classes and "the hottest trainers in NYC," the owner said.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Formula x Meredith, a popular Hamptons fitness studio, is heading west and opening its first New York City space on the Upper East Side.
The Bridgehampton workout studio, known for its low-impact, high-intensity method — as well as its chic following — has signed a 10-year lease at The Harper, a new condo tower at 310 E. 86th St., developers confirmed.
"The moment I stepped into The Harper, I felt the energy shift — light, stillness, power," Studio owner Meredith Shumway said.

The Formula’s classes combine high-intensity interval training, Pilates, barre and more.
The classes are lightly heated, and based on a method Shumway developed as a former professional dancer and movement specialist, she said.

The brand has built a strong following in Bridgehampton and has never operated a studio outside the Hamptons — until now.
What to expect from the new studio? "A full schedule of classes. The hottest trainers in NYC. A space built with the most innovative equipment, sound, and flooring in the game," Shumway wrote on Instagram.
The studio is expected to open in early 2026, Shumway said.
