UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side diner closed its doors earlier this month after 59 years in business.

The Lenox Hill Grill, located on Lexington Avenue between East 77th and 78th streets, served its last meals on Aug. 5, according to a note left in the business' front window. The diner shut down due to "imminent construction" in its building, according to the note.

"Thank you for making us part of the Upper East Side community for the last 59 years," Lenox Hill Grill's management said in the note.
