Luxury Athletic Wear Pop Up Opens On Upper East Side
The Alala pop up shop will be open until April on Madison Avenue between East 81st and 82nd streets.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Upper East Siders have another shopping option for the trendy "athleisure" look in the form of a new pop up shop on Madison Avenue.
The New York City-based retailer Alala, known for its tights and workout clothes that can impress both inside and outside the gym, opened its pop up Wednesday in a space on Madison Avenue between East 81st and 82nd streets.
Business owner Denise Lee told Patch that Alala's "great relationship" with customers on the Upper East Side prompted her to seek out space in the neighborhood for brick-and-mortar sales.

"We are so excited to open our very first Alala pop-up shop on the Upper East Side at 1082 Madison Avenue. We have always had a great relationship with our customers who live in the neighborhood — and proximity of other luxury brands, hotels, and fitness studios make it a wonderful area for our first NYC foray into our own brick-and-mortar retail," Lee said in a statement.
"Being on the ground in the neighborhood also brings us closer to our customer, allowing us to directly hear what her wants and needs are and ultimately serve her better," the statement continues.
