Man Points Gun At Women In UES Robbery: Police

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man pointed a gun at a woman in an escalating verbal dispute on East 79th Street early Monday morning, police said.

At about 3:15 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a 911 call from a 40-year-old woman reporting a robbery near East 79th Street and First Avenue, police said.

The woman told officers that she had a verbal argument with a 38-year-old man, officials said.

Eventually the dispute escalated, and the man pointed a gun at the woman, police said.

The unidentified man then threatened the victim and snatched her car keys, police said, before fleeing east on First Avenue.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
