Man Robs UES Smoke Shop At Gunpoint, Police Say

The robber threatened to shoot a clerk at the Lexington Avenue store.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a stick-up man who robbed an Upper East Side smoke shop at gunpoint, police said.

The robber entered Lexington Avenue's Jubilee Smoke & Vape Shop, near E. 82nd St., on the night of Friday, Nov. 2 and told an employee that he had a gun, police said. The store worker initially refused demands to hand over money, but then the robber put his hand on his waistband and threatened to shoot the store clerk, police sad.

The robber exited the store with $800 in cash and the clerk's cellphone, police said. The stick-up man fled the scene on a bicycle in an unkown direction, police said. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, police said. Police released photos of the stick-up man taken on a store security camera (seen above).
