Man Mugged On Way To Work On UES, Police Say

The man was on his way to work early Monday morning when he was attacked.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD are trying to identify two men wanted in connection with a violent mugging on the Upper East Side, police said.

A 46-year-old man was walking to work on Monday morning when he was attacked on East 75th Street near Lexington Avenue, police said. Two unknown men approached the victim from behind and struck him multiple times, causing the man to fall to the ground, police said.

After the man was knocked to the ground, a struggle ensued between the attackers and the victim, police said. The victim was stabbed during the struggle and the two muggers fled the scene by running up Lexington Avenue, police said.

EMS rushed the victim to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.

The suspects are both described as men in their late teens or early 20s with a light complexion. One of the suspects has a slim build and was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black baseball hat. The other suspects has a medium build and black hair and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and white shoes, police said.

The NYPD released photos of the suspects that were taken by street-facing security cameras.
