Man Attacks Young Woman And Her Friend On UES: Cops

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are looking for a man who attacked a young woman and her friend on a Yorkville street corner, the NYPD announced Wednesday.

The stranger began arguing with the woman, 27, and her friend, a 25-year-old man, near the corner of East 84th Street and Second Avenue about 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 16, police said.

The man punched the woman in the face and shoved her to the ground, an alert from the 19th Precinct reports.

But an NYPD spokesperson, in response to Patch's request for more information, said the man shoved and kicked the woman and punched her friend.

The victims were treated by first responders at the scene, the spokesperson said.
