Photos: Met Museum Puts Focuses On Lagerfeld Legacy, Not Faux Pas

NEW YORK CITY-- The first Monday in May brings fashion's biggest night out to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Celebrities will climb the museum's long stair case in just a few hours, paying homage to the exhibit's theme of famed fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld.

The show titled, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" explores the storied career of the German born designer. Lagerfeld who died in 2019 at the age of 85, left behind a rather packed resume working with some of the top fashion houses in the world.

From Chanel to Fendi and even his personal clothing line, Lagerfeld left an indelible mark in the fashion and cultural zeitgeist.

However, Lagerfeld's success came with some serious controversies linked to years of commentary on weight, race, and same sex marriage.

The costume exhibit will focus on his designs through various fashion houses, his personal style and overtaking Chanel and remaking the clothing line in his image.
