Muggers Force Man To Use Upper East Side ATM, Police Say

The man withdrew $200, which he gave to the three men robbing him, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify three men wanted in connection with a robbery on the Upper East Side, police said.

During the early morning hours of Dec. 5, 2017, a 22-year-old man was walking to his home when he was grabbed by three men on Madison Avenue and East 87th Street, police said. The men took his wallet, which only contained $12 in cash, police said.

Unsatisfied with the haul, the men forced the victim to withdraw $200 from a Chase Bank ATM on the block, police said.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.

The suspects are described as two men in their late teens or early 20s and one man in his late 20s, police said. Photos of two suspects (seen above) were released by the NYPD on Wednesday.
