New Eatery Hollybrook Lane Brings Southern Comfort, Music To UES
Now open, the restauranter Cedric Sanders offers a taste of the south for Upper East Siders.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Upper East Side is about to go South.
Thanks in part to new Yorkville eatery Hollybrook Lane, which aims to not only bring a taste of southern comfort to the mouths of the silk-stocking district, but also to their ears.
The 65-seat eatery, which opened Wednesday and is located at 1712 First Ave., near East 89th Street, offers a fully immersive experience of food and sound in their unique setting, pairing a state-of-the-art sound system with food inspired by restaurateur and owner Cedric Sanders' upbringing in 1980's Houston.

"Hollybrook Lane transcends being just a restaurant," Sanders says, "it's a celebration of community, hospitality, Southern comfort cuisine, and high-fidelity music."
The proudly Black-owned business aims to deliver innovative and nostalgic southern dishes, like skate meunière, blackened chicken, cajun fries and dirty rice, according to Resy.

A playlist as meticulously crafted as the food and cocktail program will transport diners into a totally unique immersive experience, with a sound system crafter by premier audio team 1 Sound, who boasts a client list which includes The New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Centre, The Ned Nomad and The SoHo Grand Hotel.
Back in December, Sanders told Community Board 8 that since moving uptown, he "fell in love with the Upper East Side in the way that I didn't expect to," and is "looking to bring some southern food to the neighborhood."
"I'm just looking to provide something for the community," Sanders said at the meeting.
Hollybrook Lane is now open from Wednesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. until midnight. To check out their Instagram, click here.
