New Michael Kors On Madison Ave. Is Going For Cool-Living Room-Chic
Here's an inside look.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Designer Michael Kors has just opened a new boutique on Madison Avenue, but it's not like the other shops in the row of glassy storefronts — the store is designed to have a residential feel, imitating a spare yet luxurious living room.
To this end, the shop includes a well-appointed seating area and an oversized Noguchi lamp — the minimalist, warm paper lantern in nearly every design lover's apartment.
The shop, which sells the designer's iconic handbags, shoes, ready-to-wear clothing, and more opened on Dec. 5, representing the first of the designer’s new store concepts for his Collection boutiques.

“New York City is my home, and I’m very excited to bring our new vision to a new location on Madison Avenue,” Kors said.
“The store’s interior has a welcoming feel, a sense of luxury and refinement that offers you a chance to step away from the speed of city life and take some time to discover something new.”
