New Sushi Spot Opens In Lenox Hill
Mikado 800 Lexington opened their doors late last week, bringing sushi back to a location that has served up fish slices for years.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A new Lenox Hill sushi spot opened their doors late last week, reviving an address long associated with serving raw fish slices.
Mikado 800 Lexington opened at, as the name implies, 800 Lexington Ave., near the corner of East 62nd Street.
Sushi spot Ginza formerly occupied the location until it closed during the pandemic.

"At this location, there has been a sushi place for 20 years," said representative James Wang at a Community Board 8 meeting earlier this month.
The sushi spot is a bit of a local chain, with locations in Chelsea, Brooklyn Heights, and Kew Gardens. The Upper East Side spot marks Mikado's fifth spot.

Just a month ago, Mikado opened a new location on Pearl Street in the Financial District.
Eater NY named Mikado as one of the "25 Essential Restaurants In Chelsea," as well as a spot on their list for where to get bargain sushi.
The restaurants is a "quintessential sushi takeout spot," Eater wrote. "The prices are better than expected for sushi of this quality."
