Pedestrian Struck By Motorist In Yorkville: FDNY
The collision marks at least the fourth pedestrian hit by a car in just over 10 days on the Upper East Side, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — April has been a dangerous month for pedestrians on the Upper East Side.
On Thursday night, another pedestrian was hit by a driver behind the wheel of vehicle in Yorkville, officials said.
The victim is the fourth pedestrian struck by a motorist since April 1 on the Upper East Side, including 30-year-old Sophia D’Antoine who died after she was hit by the driver of a luxury SUV just steps from her home.

The latest pedestrian collision unfolded at East 93rd Street and Second Avenue about 9 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson told Patch, only a few blocks away from last week's fatal crash.
A 26-year-old driver of a box truck was turning left onto Second Avenue from East 93rd Street when he hit a 38-year-old pedestrian in the crosswalk, according to police officials.

The victim told officers that the walk sign was in his favor when the truck driver ran into him, and said he complained of pain to his head and leg, according to a police spokesperson.
Officials said the man refused medical attention at the scene.
The NYPD spokesperson also noted that the driver of the box truck reportedly said he was able to stop on time and that he had "barely tapped" the pedestrian.
Thursday's incident is the latest in a series of pedestrian collisions on the Upper East Side not even two weeks into the month — including the deadly Yorkville collision on April 2.
All four of the collisions occurred in Yorkville between East 83rd and 93rd streets. Three of the crashes were on Second Avenue, while the fatal collision took place on York Avenue.
On April 1, the day before the crash that led to the death of D'Antonie, an 86-year-old man was hit by an SUV in Yorkville. That driver, police said, was issued a summons.
Police have not filed any charges against the 72-year-old man who smashed his Land Rover into D'Antonie as she was in a crosswalk.
Hours before D’Antoine was fatally struck, a man was rammed by a car as he tried to break up a fight in Yorkville, one block away from Thursday's crash.
