Rudy Giuliani Cuts Price Of Upper East Side Apartment Amid Financial Woes
Amid Rudy Giuliani's mounting legal and financial troubles, his Upper East Side apartment has undergone a significant price cut.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — After first appearing on the market nearly a year ago, the Upper East Side apartment belonging to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has once again taken a price cut.
Giuliani, who is currently facing several legal and financial challenges, initially put the three-bedroom unit located at 45 East 66th St., at the intersection of Madison Avenue, on the market in 2023 for $6.5 million.
However, the sale did not proceed as expected. Just three months after the initial listing, Giuliani reduced the price by $400,000. Earlier this year, the property was taken off the market altogether, according to the New York Post.

In a bankruptcy filing earlier this week, Giuliani's attorneys attributed the delay in obtaining final approval to sell the apartment "to the various parties involved in the retention process."
Court records show that Sotheby's International Realty has been authorized as the official real estate broker for the sale of Giuliani's Upper East Side apartment, intended to help settle part of his debt.

"Now that it has been resolved, the apartment is formally listed on the market. The amount of money the sale would yield is still unknown pending an accepted offer," court documents read.
Giuliani filed for bankruptcy in late 2023, shortly after being ordered to pay $148 million in a defamation lawsuit from two Georgia election workers who said his lies put them in fear for their lives.
The judgment is the biggest debt listed on Giuliani's bankruptcy filing, which lists nearly $153 million in money owed, Patch previously reported.
Giuliani faces a torrent of legal and financial trouble, much of it — but not all — stemming from his lies about the 2020 election.
His most prominent client, former President Donald Trump, has reported not been paying up the millions of dollars that Giuliani believes he is owed, according to the New York Times.
According to the latest listing on Sotheby's International Realty website, the former mayor's apartment now carries an asking price of $5.7 million, a nearly one million dollar cut from the initial price.
The three-bedroom apartment features leaded-glass windows, abundant wood paneling, a massive primary bathroom — originally two separate washrooms that were combined at some point — western and northern exposures and access from a "semi-private elevator."
The unit also features a library with a wood-burning fireplace, an oak-paneled dining room with a "carved plaster ceiling," an eat-in kitchen, a butler's pantry and a staff room with an ensuite bath.
