Thief Steals Wallet On Central Park's Great Lawn: Police
The man attempted to rack up hundreds of dollars in charges on stolen credit cards.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted for stealing a wallet in Central Park and attempting to use stolen credit cards to rack up hundreds of dollars in purchases, police said.
The unknown man is accused of lifting a wallet from an unattended bag on Central Park's great lawn on the morning of Aug. 19, investigators from the NYPD's Central Park precinct said. The thief attempted to use stolen credit cards at the East 86th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station and at an Upper East Side 7-Eleven store, police said.
The attempted charges totaled $566, police said. That's a lot of Slurpees.

The suspect is described as a man in his late teens or early 20s who tands about 5-foot-10 and weighs about 180 pounds, police said. The man has blonde hair, dirty blonde facial hair and was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue shorts, white shoes and carrying a black bag.
