UES High-End Housing Market Heats Up After Seasonal Lull
The top luxury real estate sale on the Upper East Side this past week went for $6,950,000.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Twenty-one Manhattan homes worth more than $4,000,000 sold in the past week, and seven of them have Upper East Side addresses, representing an uptick in the market, according to the latest data.
Borough-wide, luxury real estate is ramping up, according to the Olshan Luxury Market Report, which tracks luxury sales in Manhattan.
The previous week, the market hit a slump, with just 11 sales more than $4,000,000, with no deal crossing the $10,000,000 mark, and only two on the Upper East Side.

However, this week, the amount of deals have nearly doubled, and the top contract is a TriBeCa condo that went for a whopping $22,500,000.
Further uptown, the prices were slightly more modest. Here are the Upper East Side's top contracts from Sept. 15-21.

1045 Madison Ave., Apartment 3B

The top contract sold on the Upper East Side is a 1,770-square-foot condo with two bedrooms and three bathrooms that went for $6,950,000.
The condo is located at 1045 Madison Ave., at the corner of East 80th Street, in a building called The Benson. This sale was the sixth-highest in the city this past week.
126 East 86th St., Apartment 19A

The second-highest contract signed on the Upper East Side — and eighth highest citywide — is a full-floor condo located at 126 East 86th St. between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
The 2,592-square-foot apartment with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms went for $6,450,000.
791 Park Ave., Apartment 14B

The third-highest contract signed on the Upper East Side is a four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom co-op located at 791 Park Ave. between East 74th Street and East 73rd Street.
The sale is the ninth-highest citywide, according to Olshan. The co-op apartment went for $6,400,000.
980 Fifth Ave., Apartment 11B

Fourth on the Upper East Side's list is a co-op that sold for $5,250,000. The three-bed, three-and-a-half-bathroom apartment on Fifth Avenue is located near the corner of East 79th Street.
The apartment, which spans 2,590 square feet, is the 12th highest contract inked citywide this past week, Olshan reports.
12 East 88th St., Apartment PH 11 and Apartment 12B

The fifth-steepest deal inked on the Upper East Side this past week is a condo on East 88th Street between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue that sold for $5,000,000.
The three-bed, three-and-a-half-bathroom apartment on East 88th Street is a Gilded Age duplex, and is the 15th-highest deal closed last week citywide.
30 East 76th St., Apartment 8 AB

The sixth-priciest sale on the Upper East Side this past week is a 3,752-square-foot duplex condo on East 76th Street near Madison Avenue that sold for $4,795,000.
The three-bed, three-and-a-half-bathroom apartment on East 76th Street is the 17th-highest deal closed last week citywide.
40 East 78th St., Apartment 15D

The seventh-highest Upper East Side sale is a three-bed, two-bath located at 40 East 78th St., near the Madison Avenue corner, in a building called The Charles House Condominium.
The 1,577-square-foot condo apartment went for $4,000,000. The sale is the 20th-highest citywide, according to Olshan.
