UES Man Sues Neighbor For Jewish Holiday Construction: Report
An Upper East Sider told his neighbors that workers could access his home during renovations if workers agreed not to work on holy days.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side man is suing his neighbor for violating an agreement that construction work would not be done in his home on the Jewish holidays, according to reports.
Jacques Blinbaum agreed to let workers into his East 78th Street home while his neighbors Alfred K. T. Chan and Fiona Cibani have their apartment gut renovated, the New York Post first reported. The deal hinged on one condition: The workers fixing up the couple's pad had to call it quits on the Jewish holidays.
When Blinbaum heard contractors banging away on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur he decided to take his neighbors to court, the Post reported. The lawsuit was filed in advance of the holiday Sukkot, which falls on Sunday, Sept. 23.
