UES Vegan Spot Teams Up With Winery For Frosé Smoothie Bowls

The Instagram-friendly meal featuring Kim Crawford Wines can be picked up at Loco Coco on Lexington Avenue and East 64th Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side vegan spot dishing out smoothies, juices and smoothie bowls is offering a new bowl spiked with frozen rose that will stand out on any Instagram feed.

Loco Coco on Lexington Avenue and East 64th Street has teamed up with Kim Crawford Wines to offer its new frosé bowls. Max Alcobi, the founder of Loco Coco, told Patch that he wanted to add his own twist to the trendy, but "overdone," offering.

"We worked with [Kim Crawford] through a number of different recipes, topping choices, and bowl displays to make a bowl that included the notes of the wine but that was still fruity, nutritious and refreshing while packed with superfoods," Alcobi said. "And obviously pretty enough to post to Insta."

The frosé bowls come in two varieties. The standard $14 version is made using Kim Crawford rose, banana, mango, pineapple and strawberry and the $20 version is served in a watermelon and features extra toppings.

Toppings include: granola, strawberry, watermelon, green grapes, white dragon fruit, edible flowers and honey.

Alcobi said that the boozy bowls are a perfect way for New Yorkers to "de-tox and re-tox all at the same time," while enjoying a delicious meal. The spiked smoothie bowls went on sale starting in August and will be a limited-run item at the store.

Kim Crawford also took the effort to transform Loco Coco's storefront into a "pink paradise" so customers have a perfect backdrop to compliment photos of their spiked bowls.

"We were excited to get to create something from scratch that has never been done. Everyone loves Rosé, and the flavors in Kim Crawford perfectly compliment the summer fruits in our bowls," Alcobi told Patch.
