Upper East Side School Receives Bomb Threat, Police Say
A threat was called in Tuesday morning at the Julia Richman Educational Complex on East 67th Street and Second Avenue.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police investigated a bomb threat at an Upper East Side school building Tuesday morning, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
A threat was called in by phone to the Julia Richman Educational Complex on East 67th Street and Second Avenue, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Police responded to the school around 9:45 a.m. to secure the building, police said. The building was declared safe around 11 a.m. after the emergency services unit found no evidence of a bomb, police said.
Students were evacuated from the school while police searched the building, an NYPD spokeswoman said. No injuries were reported, the spokeswoman said.

The Julia Richman Educational Complex houses six autonomous public schools: Urban Academy High School, Vanguard High School, Talent Unlimited High School, Manhattan International High School, P226M Junior High Annex and the Ella Baker School. The six-story building takes up nearly the entire block on East 67th and 68th streets between First and Second avenues.
The threat disrupted Vanguard High School's graduation ceremony, according to students posting on social media.
