Where To Celebrate Dry January On The Upper East Side

Don't mock the mocktail.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — This month, many Upper East Siders are personally resolving to refrain from drinking alcohol for a whole 31 days, participating in an annual tradition called "Dry January."

It's a yearly no-drinking challenge that started in 2006, and for many New Yorkers, the challenge normalizes sobriety and serves as a reset button following the indulgent holiday season in December.

But that doesn't mean people can't still go to bars. Dry January has gained a cultural foothold in New York City, where many bars are now offering mocktails and low-alcohol beverages all month long.
