Woman Hit By Car On UES Dies In Hospital, Police Say
The 81-year-old woman was struck on East 86 Street and Madison Avenue and died one week later.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An elderly woman struck by a car on the Upper East Side died in the hospital one week after the collision, police said.
Monica Holmes, an 81-year-old resident of East 89th Street, was struck in the intersection of East 86 Street and Madison Avenue on Monday, Nov. 26, police said. Holmes was pronounced dead on Dec. 4 at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, police said.
The NYPD collision investigation squad determined that Holmes was struck by a 2006 Honda Accord while crossing the street against the light, police said. Holmes was lying in the street and suffering from trauma to the body when first responders arrived at the scene.

The driver, a 53-year-old man, stayed at the scene of the collision and was not charged with a crime, police said. The man did not suffer any injuries during the collision, police said.
