Worker Fatally Struck At UES Construction Site, Police Say
The 66-year-old Queens man was hit by a road saw being operated by another worker at a building site on East 74th Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A worker from Queens was killed Thursday at an Upper East Side building site after being hit by a construction vehicle, police said.
Officers responded to a work site on East 74th Street between First and York avenues around 9:45 a.m. to discover 66-year-old Juan Otoya unconscious and suffering trauma to the body, police said. The worker was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
An investigation by the NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad revealed that Otoya was struck by a road saw being operated by another construction worker. The worker remained at the scene of the collision and was not charged with a crime, police said.

Otoya was a resident of the Queens Village neighborhood, police said. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
