2nd Suspect Charged With Murder In Maria Hernandez's Death On UWS: PD

Terrence Moore, 53, was arrested and charged with murder on Tuesday in connection to the killing of Maria Hernandez, NYPD said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A second suspect has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the brutal killing of Maria Hernandez on the Upper West Side, police said on Wednesday.

Brooklyn resident Terrence Moore, 53, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder and two counts of burglary, police said.

The arrest comes two days after Lashawn Mackey, 47 was arrested and charged with the same crimes, police said.

NYPD did not specify Moore's alleged role in the killing, and also did not immediately respond to Patch's request for details.

Hernandez, 74, was found dead on Jan. 18 with her hands and feet tied within her apartment on West 83rd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus, police said.

Investigators told PIX11 that they believe the killing might have been the product of a robbery gone wrong. Mackey worked as a temporary employee within the building and officers found that the security system in the superintendent's office had its cables cut, PIX11 reported.
