Man Charged With Attempted Murder Months After UWS Deli Robbery: NYPD

The charges stem from a gunpoint smoke shop robbery last summer near West 71st Street and Broadway, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was charged with attempted murder on Monday, along with a slew of other offenses, in connection with an Upper West Side smoke shop robbery over the summer, police said.

Bronx resident Timothy Yahdullahi, 23, was charged with attempted murder, robbery, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment. The robbery happened on Aug. 8, 2022 at the Lincoln Convenience smoke shop at 2047 Broadway, near West 71st Street, police said.

Yahdullahi is the third person charged in connection with the incident since it happened, but the first to face charges outside of robbery, police said.

Around 4 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2022, a group of men walked into the store and took CBD jars and around $150 from behind the counter, police said.

During the robbery, a member of the group shot a 29-year-old in the foot, police said.

That 29-year-old man was a friend sitting with the lone employee working at the time because the store had also been robbed the night before, according to multiple reports — including in The New York Post and WestSideRag.

The gunshot victim was taken to St. Luke's hospital, where he recovered from his injury, police said.
