Man Dies After Getting Pushed Onto Upper West Side Train Tracks: NYPD

A man was fatally pushed onto the 96th Street 1 train tracks around 2 a.m. Friday, police said. There has been an arrest.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man died after getting pushed onto the tracks of an Upper West Side subway stop, a police spokesperson told Patch.

The 34-year-old man cut his head after getting pushed during an argument onto the 1 train tracks at 96th Street around 2 a.m., police said.

Officers were able to get the injured man off the tracks and to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries a short time later, police said.

His name is pending proper family notification.

Cops arrested a 28-year-old man at the scene, and charges are currently pending, NYPD said.
