Man Dies Month After Upper West Side Scooter Crash, Police Say
A man died more than a month after he crashed his e-scooter near a busy Upper West Side intersection, according to police.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man died a month after he crashed his scooter near a busy Upper West Side intersection, police said Wednesday.
Neiser Herrera, a 37-year-old Bronx resident, died on Monday from injuries he suffered in an Aug. 4 crash near the intersection of West 110th Street and Broadway, police said.
Herrera was riding his standing electric scooter eastbound along 110th Street when he lost control for unknown reasons at around 3:30 p.m., sending him falling to the pavement, police said.

Herrera suffered a head injury and was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was initially in stable condition before succumbing to his wounds a month later, police said.
No other vehicles were involved and no criminality is suspected, but an investigation is ongoing by the NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad, police said.

At least 36 people have been injured in crashes at the same intersection since 2012, including 15 drivers, 11 pedestrians and 10 cyclists, according to city data.
