Massive NJ Fire Appears To Leave The Upper West Side Smelling Of Smoke
"I thought something near my radiator had caught fire and I checked all over the apartment," one Upper West Side resident told Patch.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A five-alarm fire in New Jersey has left the Upper West Side smelling like smoke, multiple people said on social media Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a five-alarm fire around 4:20 a.m. at 6117 Bergenline Ave. in West New York, New Jersey, which is just across the Hudson River from the Upper West Side, according to multiple publications, including NBC.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office confirmed the Tuesday morning fire that ripped through multiple businesses.

Once the flames erupted, it seems as if the wind started blowing the smoke east to Manhattan.
"The smell of smoke woke me up just before 6 a.m., I thought something near my radiator had caught on fire," a person who did not want to share their name told Patch. "I checked all over the apartment for something burning."

Multiple Upper West Siders commented on the breaking news app Citizen about the smokey smell.
"I'm on the UWS and you can still smell it up here," Citizen-user Sabrina wrote.
"I smell it here on the UWS, I thought it was in my building," a person with the username Silhouette wrote.
Twitter user Mike G took to the social media platform Tuesday morning to post a photo of the hazy conditions over Central Park.
