Man Fatally Stabbed In UWS Building, Arrest Made: NYPD
Officers found the fatally wounded man inside a staircase of a West 97th Street Wednesday, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was stabbed and killed Wednesday evening inside an Upper West Side building, police said.
Officers found the man with fatal chest wounds on a stairwell inside 316 W. 97th St., between Riverside and West End Avenue, just after 7 p.m., police said.
The Upper West Side address is home to the Yale Hotel, the Groutman NYC tile contractor, and residential apartments.

The man was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A resident of the building, Michael Perkins, 60, was taken into custody from the scene, police said.

Perkins was charged on Thursday with murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, police added.
