• Westchester Medical Center and Good Samaritan recognized as top maternity hospitals (midhudsonnews.com) — Valhalla’s own Westchester Medical Center has been named among the nation’s top maternity hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for its 2026 rankings, highlighting its strong safety and quality measures. Along with Good Samaritan Hospital, the center earned top marks for C-section rates, newborn outcomes, breastfeeding support, and birthing-friendly practices, giving Hudson Valley families another reason to consider delivering close to home.
   

• A Dream for Children (westfaironline.com) — Valhalla residents benefit directly from the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, whose construction was heavily supported by the Children’s Dream Foundation to bring advanced pediatric care to the region. The foundation, based in Rye Brook, now funds equipment, staff training, and preventive programs that strengthen emergency and everyday pediatric services across the Hudson Valley.
   

• 2 killed, one critical after two-car crash on the thruway (recordonline.com) — A serious Thruway crash in Rosendale sent two victims to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where the driver later died and the other driver remains in critical condition. The collision, involving a U-turn attempt at mile marker 83, killed one passenger at the scene and remains under state police investigation.
