Aug. 19: Jim Breuer, Tether Car Racing,Gambling Addiction Group Meeting
Your daily guide to what's going on in Seaford, Levittown and Wantagh

1. Famed actor and comedian Jim Breuer will make a stop at Mulcahy's Pub & Concert Hall in Wantagh tonight with his Heavy Metal Family Tour starting at 8 p.m.
2. The American Miniature Car Racing Association kicked off the U.S. tether car racing national competition yesterday at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, and the event will continue today and tomorrow between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. both days. Tether car racing is a 75-year old racing sport with the vehicles a foot to two and a half feet long, weighing between two and six pounds and running upwards of 200 miles per hour on a circular concrete track propelled by steel cable and fueled by methanol.
3. Gam-Anon, anonymous group aimed at helping people cope with gambling addictions, will be meeting at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on 3434 Hempstead Tpke, Levittown at 8 p.m. tonight.

4. Check back later on Wantagh-Seaford Patch for a video of a bowling fundraiser held this past Wednesday to raise money toward saving the Seaford Middle School winter and spring sports seasons after they were cut from the budget. A car wash fundraiser on behalf of saving Seaford Middle School sports is scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m. at Applebee's in Bellmore.
