Crime Report: Burglaries, Stolen Jewelry Box, Suspicious Phone Call

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's . A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction. 

  • On Feb. 27, Russell Blessington, 67, of Massapequa was arrested at the Nassau County Seventh Precint headquarters in Seaford and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
  • Bathrooms at the Duck Pond Baseball Field in Wantagh was reported damaged by unknown suspect(s) between Feb. 27-28.
  • On Feb. 29, Deborah Errico, 51, of Merrick was arrested on Neptune Avenue near Manhasset Street in Seaford and charged with driving while ability impaired and one vehicle and traffic law violation.
  • On Feb. 29, a 17-year old Wantagh boy was arrested at Wal-Mart in Massapequa and charged with petit larceny.
  • A building on Jackson Avenue in Seaford was burglarized between Feb. 29-March 1. Police said the point of entry was through a second story window but no items were removed.
  • A woman on Maplewood Drive in Seaford reported to police on March 1 that she discovered a jewelry box containing assorted jewelry missing from her residence.
  • A home on Deer Lane in Wantagh was burglarized on March 2. Police said the point of entry was through a rear door and miscellaneous items were stolen.
  • A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 1999 Toyota gray SR5 parked at the on March 2.
  • A woman on Lincoln Street in Seaford reported to police on March 3 receiving a suspicious phone call from a woman she believed to be her granddaughter who was in a Canada jail and needed money via Western Union.
  • Scrap metal was reported stolen from a front yard on Island Road in Wantagh on March 5.
