Crime Report: Stolen Honda from Train Station, Counterfeiting Arrest, DWI

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th and 1st Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's First and s. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • A vehicle on Carroll Street in Wantagh was reported scratched on June 24 after an argument over a parking spot.
  • A pocketbook containing $300 and credit cards was reported stolen on June 29 from a 2011 white GMC parked at Oakdale Court in Wantagh.
  • On June 29, Pamela Janiszak, 24, of Seaford, was arrested at Macy’s, 400 Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with petit larceny.
  • On June 29, a gold, 2002 Honda was stolen from the .
  • On June 29, a man placed his keys in an unlocked gym locker at in Wantagh and discovered them missing. The complaintant then returned to his vehicle and noticed an iPod and $20 in change was stolen.
  • On June 29, Angela Sottile, 18, of Wantagh, was arrested on Mandalay Beach Road in Wantagh and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and four counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
  • An overhead light was reported damaged on June 30 on Bayview Avenue in Wantagh.
  • On July 1, Chengsheng Li, 53, of Flushing, was arrested in front of the and charged with second-degree counterfeiting and first-degree failure to disclose the origin of a recording.
  • The passenger side window of a 2002 gray Chevy Suburban parked on Sycamore Avenue in Wantagh was reported damaged on July 3.
  • On July 2, Rafael Canela, 44, of Freeport, was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Wantagh and charged with fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, driving while intoxicated and five vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • On July 2, Michael Egan, 21, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Beech Street in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and three vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • A 2004 black Hyundai parked in front of a home on Plover Place in Seaford was reported keyed on July 4.
