Crime Report: Woman Assaulted, DWIs

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • The second floor window of a home on Hilaire Way in Seaford was reported damaged between May 29 and 30. Police said the damage may have been caused by a bb gun.
  • Two windows were reported broken on the east of an abandoned building located at the corner of Waverly Avenue and Seaford Avenue on May 30.
  • An iPad was reported stolen from a 2010 black Mercedes parked at a shopping center on 3457 Merrick Rd. in Wantagh on June 2.
  • On June 2, Sean C Gauci, 36, of Seaford was arrested on Seamans Neck Road near Franklin Avenue in Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana, and two vehicle and traffic law violations.  
  • A diamond ring was reported stolen from a bedroom on June 4 at a house on Seaford Court in Wantagh.
  • A man on Argyle Road in Wantagh reported to police on June 4 that he observed a group of youths hanging out, then heard commotion outside his residence and saw a subject stepping onto and over his 2006 white Chevy causing damage.
  • An employee of on 1885 Wantagh Ave, Wantagh reported to police on June 5 that while working an unknown suspect entered her unlocked 1998 black Nissan and stole a cell phone charger, Magellan GPS with accessories, and iPod classic.
  • On June 5, Jared Saperstein, 18 of Seaford was arrested on Seamans Neck Road, Seaford and charged with second-degree obstruction of government administration.
  • A woman reported being assaulted on Jerusalem Avenue in Seaford on June 6. Police said the suspect punched the woman in the nose knocking her to the ground.  The suspect then began kicking the complainant in the face and nose causing substantial pain and breaking her glasses.
  • On June 6, John Demaille, 30 of Wantagh was arrested on Merrick Road, near Newbridge Road in Bellmore and charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and five vehicle and traffic law violations.
