Female Barber From LI Stars In Lebron James Ruffles Commercial
The TV campaign debuted on Christmas Day and showcases people who overcame hardships. A Merrick barber who works in Wantagh was the first.
WANTAGH, NY—Jamie Lee Rodriguez, from Merrick, saw herself on national television on Christmas Day. The female barber who works at Hair Magicians in Wantagh was featured on a new Ruffles potato chip commercial with basketball superstar LeBron James.
The spot is the first of a series called "Own Your Ridges," a campaign from Ruffles that will highlight four people who overcame hardships in their lives. The spot is set to the song "D.N.A." by Kendrick Lamar.

Rodriguez, a single mother, was chosen for her tenacity, finding success in a male-dominated field.
She told FOX 5 News that got a message from the casting director on Instagram, looking for a female barber. At first skeptical, she ultimately decided to go for the opportunity.
