That old cell phone you want to discard can help our troops overseas to stay in touch with their families.
State Sen. Charles Fuschillo will host a phone collection event on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Seaford train station.
Area residents can drop off broken or unused cell phones from 9 a.m. to noon.
The phones will then be recycled and the recycling company will make a donation to "Cell phones for Soldiers" a program which purchases overseas calling cards and gives them to troops so they can stay in touch with their families.
For more information, call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
