Home Surveillance Camera Helps Nab Seaford Man Accused of Multiple Area Burglaries

Mark McLloyd charged with four burglaries in the last three months including two on Monday.

A home surveillance camera helped lead to the arrest Monday of a Seaford man who is charged with committing multiples burglaries in the area the last three months including breaking into houses on Washington Avenue and Cedar Street earlier in the day.

According to detectives, Mark McLloyd, 26, of Seaford, was seen inside Washington Avenue home of the victim by a surveillance camera. The victim, who was at work, was able to see McLloyd placing items from the home into a shopping bag and called police.

Responding police officers apprehended McLloyd in the rear yard of the Washington Avenue home. He was found to be in possession of items from the home and also items from a burglary, which occurred on Cedar Street earlier on Monday.

During the course of the police investigation, McLloyd was found to have also committed two burglaries in the Seaford area on April 15, 2011, according to the detectives.

McLloyd is being charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
