How is Wantagh-Seaford Rebuilding from Sandy Six Months Later?

Weigh in on how you think the local area has recovered on half a year anniversary of Oct. 29 superstom.

Monday marks six months since Superstorm Sandy ravaged the Wantagh-Seaford area on Oct. 29, 2012 and destroyed numerous homes and businesses in her wake.

In the half a year since the fall superstorm, the recovery process for those south of Merrick Road continues with many still unable to move back into their houses and some businesses unable to reopen. The amount of people on the South Shore still in need six months later was evident during an April 15 post-Sandy forum hosted by the Wantagh-Seaford Homeowners’ Association that was attended by more than 300 people seeking assistance from federal and state agencies who had tables set up at the event.
