Merrick Road Toy Store Reopens After Sandy
Fun Stuff Toys in Seaford suffered severe damage and loss of inventory.

The roof literally peeled back from the building.
"We lost one-third of the inventory," owner Mike Timko said. "We had to replace the roof, ceiling tiles. Then we had to move all of the inventory out of store and put down new carpeting and restock."

Timko, whose toy shop has been in Seaford for 10 years, said he didn't know what to expect when reopening in a community that was suffered so much loss in the hurricane.
"The support has been overwhelming," he said. "The stories we are hearing from people are just amazing."
With a successful reopening last week, the store's improvements include a new game table where parents, grandparents and even the kids can test items.
A sales associate who answered the phone at the store just a few days before Christmas said they were "absolutely packed" with customers.
