Peter King Recovering From Cancer Surgery

The longtime congressman retired from politics in 2021.

SEAFORD, NY — Former Rep. Peter King is recovering from surgery, Newsday reported.

King, who served in Congress from 1993 until 2021, had surgery Monday for a cancerous tumor on the stomach wall, Newsday said.

The 79-year-old veteran lawmaker from Seaford told Newsday is in "virtually no pain" since the operation.

King is not expected to require radiation or chemotherapy.

A frequent contributor to WABC Radio, King called into the morning show on Tuesday from the hospital.
