Levittown Schools Bring Toys To Kids At Columbia Medical Center
The donation was in honor of former student Lorenzo Fernandez, who was treated at Irving Medical Center.

LEVITTOWN, NY. — Kids at Columbia University Irving Medical Center got a truck full of cheer last week, courtesy of students at Jonas E. Salk Middle School and General Douglas MacArthur High School.
Salk Principal John Zampaglione and MacArthur Principal Joseph Sheehan traveled to the medical center with members of the faculty and multiple boxes full of donated toys, brought to school by students, faculty and families. The donation drive at the Levittown schools was in honor of Lorenzo Fernandez, a former Levittown student who passed away after being treated at Irving Medical Center.
“Beavers don’t just build dams — they build communities,” Sheehan said. “This
holiday season, our community proved once again that when we work together, we can
create something truly special for others.”
