The former L.I. congressman said for his party to have a chance at the presidency in 2024, "we must close the book" on Donald Trump.

The veteran politician acknowledged Trump's tactic to re-litigate the 2020 election in rallies and attack other Republicans. After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' re-election victory, Trump was quick to criticize the likely candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination with "goon squad threats," King said.
"Americans have had enough," King said. "For Republicans to win in 2024, we must close the book on Donald Trump."
