Propane Leak Contained in Seaford Neighborhood
Spill caused by bad valve from 20-foot gas grill cylinder.
A bad valve from a gas grill cylinder caused a propane leak in a Seaford neighborhood Monday afternoon but firefighters were able to quickly contain the spill to avoid any damage to residents on the block.
According to Chief, Robert Podesta, firefighters hooked up a hose to the grill outside a house on Worthmor Drive and were able to remove the products from the 20-foot cylinder. Nobody was inside the house that the grill belonged to at the time of the propane leak.
Chief Podesta said the cleanup of the leak went very smoothly and no evacuation of houses in the neighborhood was needed.
